Interns: Round 3
Updated: Mar 2, 2021

I believe internships have the ability to play a vital role in an individual's life. If it wasn't for my internship at a radio station in 1998, I don't know if I would have had the radio career I did. I know a lot of companies have stopped hosting interns due to legal concerns, but I feel like that's limiting future professionals from exploring their opportunities.
Jill Devine Media believes in interns and the importance of internships. I'm proud to introduce the third round of interns to you. I would like to introduce Oyku and in addition, Clara remains part of JDM and is now responsible for managing the interns and the projects they are working on. Clara was part of the first round of interns. Madisen also remains an intern, as she would like to gain some more experience and I'm happy she's extending her internship with JDM. She was part of the second round of interns.
Before I introduce Oyku, I have to say I've been so blessed to have interns to help build the brand and business. Each of the young ladies that have been a part of the process have been wonderful and have a very bright future ahead of them! Now I would like to introduce JDM's latest intern, Oyku Evliya:

My name is Oyku Evliya, I am a senior at Lindenwood University and I am planning to graduate in May 2021. My major is Advertising, Public Relations, and Corporate Communications. I have a minor in Cinema Arts and I will also graduate with a Professional Communications Certificate. I am originally from Turkey, Istanbul. I came to United States in 2017 because I wanted to continue doing my sport, which is Synchronized Swimming and study at the same time. I have been doing Synchronized Swimming my whole life, I participated in the Turkish National team for 8 years and I am also the current Turkish Champion in Solo Category. I love travelling, doing sports, taking pictures, videos and watching sunsets.
5 Questions with Oyku:
Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?
I would love to have a home on the beach! I do not enjoy cold weather at all, and I love swimming and tanning so I would prefer a beach house.
If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?
Everywhere!! I love travelling. One of my biggest goals in life is to travel the World. I have already been to more than 10 countries. The next country I would love to visit would be in Asia. For instance, Japan, Nepal, China and Maldives.
Would you rather be rich or famous?
Rich. I do not think famous people can enjoy their lives fully. If you are famous, you have no privacy. They also have to deal with criticism.
What is your most frequently used emoji?
It is the one sending heart kisses.
If you could only email or text people for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?
I would choose texting. I find it way easier than email.

Clara Oliveira is a student starting her last semester at Lindenwood University. She is double-majoring in Mass Communications and Interactive Media & Web Design (with a minor in advertising) and has been working as a social media manager for Lindenwood Career Services. She is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but has been living in the United States for 3 years now. Before the U.S., she studied abroad in New Zealand. She loves traveling, reading, and meeting new people.

Madisen Schlueter is a junior at Lindenwood University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Graphic Design. On campus, she is involved in Greek life as a member of the Delta Zeta sorority, where she serves as design chair and creates shirts for chapter events. She’s a native of St. Louis, grew up playing softball and loves traveling. When she’s not studying or working, you can find Madisen at Starbucks catching up with friends.
