Interns: Round 4

I believe internships have the ability to play a vital role in an individual's life. If it wasn't for my internship at a radio station in 1998, I don't know if I would have had the radio career I did. I know a lot of companies have stopped hosting interns due to legal concerns, but I feel like that's limiting future professionals from exploring their opportunities.

Jill Devine Media believes in interns and the importance of internships. I'm proud to introduce the fourth round of interns to you! I would like to introduce Hailey, Miriam, Clara B, Abby, and in addition, Clara O. remains part of JDM and is now responsible for managing the interns and the projects they are working on. Clara was part of the first round of interns.

I have to say I've been so blessed to have interns to help build the brand and business. Each of the young ladies that have been a part of the process have been wonderful and have a very bright future ahead of them!

Now I would like to introduce JDM's latest interns. Up first, Hailey:

Hailey

Hailey Haloka (Carver) is a current student at Lindenwood University pursuing a BA in Advertising & Strategic Communications with minors in both Digital Content Strategy and Graphic Design. As an employee for Lindenwood's Public Relations department, Hailey has participated in video and photo editing, marketing, and different advertising campaigns. As well as her work with Lindenwood, she is also a contract worker for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma.

5 Questions with Hailey:

Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?

Beach! Sand and ocean, please.

If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?

I have always wanted to visit Santorini, Greece. Beautiful ocean, architecture, and sunsets.

Would you rather be rich or famous?

I would rather be rich. However, I would use the money wisely and to help my family and give back to the community.

What is your most frequently used emoji?

The white heart emoji.

If you could only email or text people for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

I would prefer text! Emails can easily be missed and texting comes with fun emoji's!

Miriam

Miriam Frenchie is a student at Lindenwood, finishing her last year as a senior. She is majoring in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Media Production and Arts (with two minors in journalism and broadcasting). She currently lives in Saint Charles Missouri. She loves art, playing animal crossing, watching movies, and reading when she has the time.

5 Questions with Miriam:

Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?

I love the beach!!

If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?

I think it depends on the day but today probably Japan for ramen and a day at the sauna...

Would you rather be rich or famous?

Rich! So I can feed my online shopping addiction guilt-free :)

What is your most frequently used emoji?

I use a lot!

If you could only email or text people for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

I love a good email but definitely text!

Clara B.

Clara Busé is a recent graduate from SCAD, Savannah College of Art and Design. She has a BFA in Writing and is currently working from her hometown, Atlanta.

5 Questions with Clara B.:

Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?

I would definitely have my home on the beach. As much as I love the mountains, I know I’m happiest by a beach.

If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?

I recently have been wanting to go the Azores islands, off the coast of Portugal. They are really gorgeous.

Would you rather be rich or famous?

I don’t think I would enjoy fame too much, there is a lot that goes into maintaining that image. I’d rather be successful and if wealth comes along with it, then I won’t say no...!

What is your most frequently used emoji?

🤩; I think it works great in a lot of different ways.

If you could only email or text people for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

I would choose to text. I think the interface of texting apps kind of works better for communication!

Abby

Abigail George is entering her junior year at Seton Hill University pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Business. On campus she is a member of the Student Theatre Activities Council and an active participant in the theatre department productions. She is a Pittsburgh native and grew up playing sports, doing theatre, and singing in her school choir. When she is not working at her local grocery store or studying, she will often be found watching Disney+'s entire library or grabbing dinner with some friends.

5 Questions with Abby:

Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?

I'd rather live in a house on the beach, I definitely prefer warmer weather and the overall beachy aesthetic.

If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?

If I could travel anywhere on Earth I would go to London, England. I think it has a certain charm that I have not experienced before.

Would you rather be rich or famous?

I would rather be rich than famous, because famous people do not have a lot of privacy.

What is your most frequently used emoji?

My most frequently used emoji: the red heart

If you could only email or text people for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

I would choose texting over emails, it feels more personal and less robotic.

Clara Oliveira

Clara Oliveira is a graduate student with a BA in Mass Communications and a BA in Interactive Media & Web Design (with a minor in advertising) from Lindenwood University. She is currently pursuing a double Master's Degree in Digital Marketing (Traffic Management and Lead Generation & Digital Project Management) in Spain.

She has been working with Jill Devine Media since June 2020 and works with other companies as well. She is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but has lived in the United States for 3 years and studied abroad in California and New Zealand. She loves traveling, reading, and meeting new people.

5 Questions with Clara:

Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?

For sure on the beach! I was born and raised in Rio, so living somewhere away from the sea has been a challenge.

If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?

This question is a very difficult one for me. Traveling is my favorite thing to do and I have been to so many incredible places that I wish I could go back. However, if I had to pick just one place to visit, that would be Thailand.

Would you rather be rich or famous?

Rich. Famous people usually have to give up their privacy and there is always someone talking about them or pointing something out. Having someone watching my every move would be very hard for me.

What is your most frequently used emoji?

The red heart.

If you could only email or text people for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

I have a feeling that is easier to communicate via text, so that would be my choice.
