Interns: Round 7

I believe internships have the ability to play a vital role in an individual's life. If it wasn't for my internship at a radio station in 1998, I don't know if I would have had the radio career I did. I know a lot of companies have stopped hosting interns due to legal concerns, but I feel like that's limiting future professionals from exploring their opportunities.

Jill Devine Media believes in interns and the importance of internships. I'm proud to introduce the seventh round of interns to you! Joining round 7 are Amanda and Scot!

Daniela was part of Round 6 and remains part of the JDM intern team. In addition, Clara O. remains part of JDM and has been responsible for managing the interns and the projects they are working on. Clara was part of the first round of interns.

I'm extremely blessed to have interns to help build the brand and business. Each intern that has been a part of the process has been wonderful and they have a very bright future ahead of them!

Now I would like to introduce JDM's latest interns. Up first, Amanda:

Amanda

Amanda Sosa is a college graduate from California State University, Long Beach with a MA in English (emphasis Rhetoric and Composition) and a BA in English (emphasis Rhetoric and Composition; minor in American Studies). She currently works in higher education English classrooms at Golden West Community College and as an instructor at Platt College. Her love of writing has prompted her to additionally pursue copywriting and copyediting professionally.

4 Questions with Amanda:

Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?

The beach! I'm a native of Southern California, so the beach always feels like home. I would love to visit someone else's home in the mountains, though!

If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?

I would visit England. I would love to explore various literary landmarks!

Would you rather be rich or famous?

I would rather be rich. I value my privacy too much, so I wouldn't be cut out for fame.

What is your most frequently used emoji?

The laughing face emoji and the white heart.

Scot

Scot Oppenlander is a senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho studying communication with a journalism emphasis. He is about to begin the last semester of his Bachelors' degree, and he is currently applying to law school.

4 Questions with Scot:

Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?

I would rather have a beach home!

If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?

I want to visit Germany to see World War II historical sites.

Would you rather be rich or famous?

I would rather be rich, so I could still enjoy my privacy!

What is your most frequently used emoji?

The face with tears of joy emoji.

Daniela

Daniela Montiel is a current Senior at North Park University pursuing her BA in Advertising.

4 Questions with Daniela:

Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?

I would rather have a home in the mountains! I always say that if I didn't live in Chicago, I would be living in the mountains surrounded by trees!

If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?

Italy is my dream destination!

Would you rather be rich or famous?

I think I would rather be rich over being famous, fame seems intimidating.

What is your most frequently used emoji?

Smiley face with three hearts.

Clara

Clara Oliveira is a graduate student with a BA in Mass Communications and a BA in Interactive Media & Web Design (with a minor in advertising) from Lindenwood University. She is currently pursuing a double Master's Degree in Digital Marketing (Traffic Management and Lead Generation & Digital Project Management) in Spain.

She has been working with Jill Devine Media since June 2020 and works with other companies as well. She is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but has lived in the United States for 3 years and studied abroad in California and New Zealand. She loves traveling, reading, and meeting new people.

4 Questions with Clara:

Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?

For sure on the beach! I was born and raised in Rio, so living somewhere away from the sea has been a challenge.

If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?

This question is a very difficult one for me. Traveling is my favorite thing to do and I have been to so many incredible places that I wish I could go back. However, if I had to pick just one place to visit, that would be Thailand.

Would you rather be rich or famous?

Rich. Famous people usually have to give up their privacy and there is always someone talking about them or pointing something out. Having someone watching my every move would be very hard for me.

What is your most frequently used emoji?

The red heart.
