Our Monthly Favorites - August

Sometimes it can be hard looking for a great new book to read, TV show to binge, or hobby to get into. A recommendation can help you get into something new! And that’s why we are starting a “Monthly Favorites” series! I have spoken to Jill, Clara O., and my fellow interns to see what their monthly favorites are!
Jill says, “I’ve been listening to the Smartless podcast with Sean Hayes, Jason Bateman, and Will Arnett. Hilarious and such a great distraction from the heaviness that’s happening all around us. Sometimes you just need a good laugh or to have a smile on your face and this podcast does that for me!”
Clara O. says, “My monthly favorite is the tv show Virgin River on Netflix. It's a great show, with a strong female lead-character and talks about a lot of different topics (most of those related to motherhood).”
Abby says, “My monthly favorite is the tv show Superstore. It is available to stream on Hulu and it quickly became my favorite! As someone who has worked in retail and grocery stores, the show hits the nail on the head! It’s absolutely hilarious and I couldn’t recommend enough!
Juliana says, “I’ve been watching Love it or List it a lot. I just love how Hilary transforms these family’s homes into their dream home. While David is giving the family a back up plan of finding a new home that would work if they didn’t like the renovation. It’s really nice to see that no matter what the families are ending up happy.”
Mila says, “This month I’ve been obsessed with gardening, from pruning my roses to helicoptering over my succulents, I’ve been on it. I started gardening recently and I find it as a stress reliever.”
And for me? My monthly favorite is the novel “Convenience Store Woman” by Sayaka Murata. It’s a perfect little read that takes you on an emotional journey about love and finding where one belongs in life.
We hope you enjoy these recommendations for our Monthly Favorites as much as we do!
