Why You Should Support Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is right around the corner (November 26, 2022) and Jill Devine Media is a huge supporter of shopping small and local.

What is Small Business Saturday?

Small Business Saturday officially takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving and was created by American Express to promote small businesses. Local businesses may market more toward their local audience and online fanbase, and create special promotions and discounts just for the holiday. If your local business hasn't pitched in on Small Business Saturday, it's never a bad thing to mention the holiday to them as many online outlets, like us, promote small businesses so that everyone gets the best during the upcoming holiday.

Why should you support it?

Let's talk about the elephant in the room. We know it's easy to buy online where you can get virtually anything at any price that might not be available in your local area, but think about all of the local businesses that need your support. These businesses also have online stores or an online presence on social media where you can learn more about them before you try them. Isn't it always amazing when you find a hidden treasure? It gives you something new to try and it's something you can promote to your friends, family and maybe even your own workplace or business!

What are some local business examples?

1. Evoke is a creative marketing company that supports small businesses, focusing on creating branding, digital marketing and promotional swag to give any business an amazing voice, image and website that promotes quality products. They have professional marketers for the type of service you need and a blog full of tips and tricks from social media to photography. For example, say that you didn't get a masters in marketing and strategy, you're a family of four and work 24/7. You most likely don't have the time to complete a degree, take care of your family, go to work and start a business, let alone promote one! And that's okay, that's why Evoke exists to help your business flourish and get the support it needs!

2. Blondin Real Estate offers property before it hits the market, including quick updates and access to property. Their business has an amazing set of professional staff who will personalize an extensive plan to get your property to sell for the best price and as soon as possible, or vise-versa, buy a property. Starting with an appointment, they'll go over a list of pre-listing, marketing or discovery, negotiations, sale pending, post closing and luxury to get you the best deal. They also offer a free mortgage calculator online and a message box for any queries.

3. Elemental Esthetics provides a range of services to keep you looking beautiful, youthful and relaxed while still looking like yourself! Your wellness is what matters and this business knows it! If you're struggling with hormone imbalance, stress, weight, pain or general wellness and feel as though you need some friendly, beauty therapy, they've got something for you. You can choose anything from facial services to men's specialties to emsculpting to skincare, the list is endless!
